Verified by Visa password has to be changed every 30 days - Barclaycard Verified by Visa

I have had a Barclaycard for ever. I use it all the time for Amazon online purchases as it is linked directly to my Amazon account. Also for Paypal. At some point in the distant past I also registered it for Verified by Visa for direct online purchases. However in the last year it has become increasingly difficult to use VbV for online purchases direct. I know they need to keep it secure but it is getting ridiculous. Last month I tried to buy some cinema tickets on line and got rejected "because you have not used your card for 30 days". I had to phone up Barclaycard and speak to the Fraud team in order to be able to use it. The same thing happened today when I tried to pay a bill to the council. When you are blocked and you phone Barclaycard you are then passed around several departments until you reach the Fraud team who kindly offer to unlock it for you. I rang Barclaycard this morning after it happened again (32 days since last time.) After getting passed around several different departments, I eventually spoke to the Internet team. I asked if there was an automatic block on the card by VbV if it was not used for 30 days and the response was that the VbV password must be changed every 30 days. After that the card is blocked if it is not changed because you are using an out of date password. No one has ever advised me of this before. Really life is too short. I am going to apply for a different credit card.
